In the autumn of 2020, I was tasked with creating twelve illustrations featuring individuals and animals in connection with furniture designs for the Hamburg-based company [more]. These illustrations were intended for the 2021 catalog, with the objective of conveying the furniture in a playful and imaginative manner. The style guidelines for the illustrations called for an abstract, organic look, featuring rough textures and subdued color palettes. The illustrations were crafted using a combination of techniques, with a primary focus on imbuing them with a dynamic and abstract quality.
The initial composition was created using analog methods, employing shades of grey through the use of acrylic paints, crayons, and pencils. Following this, the illustrations were scanned and digitally colored on an iPad using Procreate.
